Reluctance

The unloved child, regardless of age, lives in a world of unrivaled poverty, silently shared with the forgotten and those without hope. It is ironic that, in the wealthiest society in history, the greatest poverty cannot be remedied by money.

Whether by accident or design, when we neglect to notice the poverty around us, we surely perpetuate it.

Perhaps our reluctance to share our wealth guarantees the next generation of poverty and the sorrow it sows.
