Words

The spoken word is the most powerful and devastating of all man’s weaponry. Once uttered, the spoken word cannot be unheard— cannot be unremembered. In today’s media driven world, all too often, the spoken word is the sole source of information for those unable, or unwilling, to mine for the truth in a mountain of particulars

There is great merit in listening to the thoughts and perspectives of others. The hazard arises when we accept, at face value, the declarations of others without demanding an accounting of those assertions and an examination of their testimony and their motivations.

As has been the case for decades, it would seem that we are governed by stubborn minds who would contort reality to seamlessly fit their interpretations of today, as they choose our path towards tomorrow.

In the end, it appears to be a game—a game which mandates unrealistic promises and the unremitting degradation of opponents, both real and imagined, with which to fuel the fire of self promotion.

It is a game to choose which bully we will anoint to lead us farther down a road we don’t want to travel.
