Dirge




His words fell, shattering like the brittle glass of antiquity. Bled of even the dimmest glimmer of truth, they were but muffled noise—unheard and unheeded.

A lifetime of poor, self-serving decisions had eroded what little self-respect he’d once possessed, and now, he lives alone,  from one minute to the next, still squandering every opportunity.

Unloved and unloving, his faded shadow reflects his diluted soul.
