The Lakota Sioux believe
that the measure of a warrior’s life is best measured
by the number of
those who mourn his death.
The only definition
of the world is his, and those who disagree are ridiculed and bullied,
as he pushes them out
of his life.
He closes every door
and burns every bridge behind him, not because he can,
but because the past is of no use to him.
but because the past is of no use to him.
His is the first
portion allotted, as he callously sullies the rest.
He manipulates and uses
everything and everyone for his personal gain, all while his seared conscience
refuses to calculate the cost of his touch.
He alone defines his
world.
Every compliment
comes with a price, just as every touch leaves a scar.
The Lakota Sioux believe
that the measure of a warrior’s life is best measured by the number of those
who mourn his death.
The un-mourned warrior is said to have lived a life of ashes.
The un-mourned warrior is said to have lived a life of ashes.
Having systematically
used and discarded everyone he met on his life’s journey,
his death will leave
but the tiniest ripple upon the living sea of humanity.
