Shackles

( a 100 word portrait)

Fear is the most ruthless and secure of all prisons.

Unlike its steel and cement counterparts, our fear is constructed of unyielding self-doubt and perceived inadequacies. The intricate weave of our self-imposed bonds grow stronger and more encumbering with the passing of each missed or deflected opportunity.

Fear binds the heart in barbed cables, and shrouds the spirit with an incalculable burden of doubt.

It blurs the lines, alters the rules, and dilutes the courage.

The antidote to fear is love, for it is of, and through love, that we are truly freed.

The brave know that love is enough.
